David Kirkland
Community Liason
David brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the community through his work at Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care and his longstanding commitment to service. With a deep connection to both his professional role and his humanitarian efforts, David’s impact extends far beyond his day-to-day responsibilities. In the early 2000s, David served as a diplomatic liaison, facilitating communication between several state senators and the Israeli Ministry of Defense, playing a pivotal role in fostering important international relationships. His commitment to honoring and remembering the past is also evident in his participation in the annual Yom Hashoah ceremony at the Georgia State Capitol, "Unto Every Person There is a Name," which pays tribute to victims of the Holocaust. David’s passion for helping others is particularly evident in his involvement with various charitable causes. He has actively sponsored and raised funds for Kate’s Club and Camp Sunshine, as well as numerous nonprofit hospice and pediatric hospice care facilities. His service on the boards of several hospices reflects his deep commitment to providing care and comfort to those facing life’s most difficult moments. Moreover, David has taken a leading role in organizing community events on grief and loss, hosting discussions that help individuals navigate emotional challenges during holidays, anniversaries, and other significant life events. In addition to his charitable and community-focused endeavors, David has contributed his expertise as an expert witness in cases regarding the proper care and identification of the deceased. His influence once extended into the field of tissue donation, where he became one of the most respected voices in the country. His dedication to educating and supporting those dealing with loss is further demonstrated by his efforts to bring world-renowned grief counselor Dr. Alan Wolfelt to Atlanta over 15 times, offering these resources free of charge to bereaved families and caregivers. David’s extensive experience and compassionate leadership continue to make him an invaluable asset to both his professional community and the countless lives he touches.
